Have A Story to Tell? Welcome (Back) to Mini Beats.

We all have stories to tell. Some may flow into a several-page-long article while others fit comfortably in a 100 words or less.

With Mini Beats, these tiny stories have a place to shine.

Modeled after the Tiny Love Stories of The New York Times, where readers submit a story in 100 words or less about anything from finding love in a waterbed store to dinosaur drawings, the Mini Beats’ focus isn’t just love stories, but the message remains the same — write about something important to you.

As a column exclusive to Beacon students, we want to hear your stories from Beacon and beyond. Two prompts will be announced for submissions at the beginning of each month.

Our prompts for December are:

In 100 words or less:

What’s your coffee order and why?

or

What crime would you commit if you knew you could get away with it?

Again, you can submit your story through this Google Form and include a picture that matches your experience. Submissions close on December 22nd.

A week later, five stories will be published in our first Mini Beat article for the school year.

We cannot wait to read what you have in store!
