The San Francisco 49ers are facing off against the Kansas City Chiefs in a repeat 2020 Super Bowl matchup. Here’s what you need to know.

Where is Super Bowl 58 taking place?
Super Bowl 58 will take place in Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders. The stadium was constructed in July of 2022 and has a maximum capacity of 72,000. The cost to build the stadium was $2 billion and rightfully so— the stadium is indoors and the ceiling is 100% see-through, made out of perfectly clear and sturdy glass. This is Las Vegas’s first time hosting the Super Bowl and fans cannot wait to watch the highly anticipated game under the roof of a state-of-the-art stadium.

What teams are participating in this Super Bowl?
This year’s American Football Conference (AFC) Championship was one for the books. It resulted in a score of 17-10, with the Kansas City Chiefs beating the Baltimore Ravens in a major upset. Patrick Mahomes made his 6th consecutive AFC championship appearance, and legendary tight end Travis Kelce just broke the record for the most postseason touchdowns. With the Chiefs’ strong offense and powerful defense, a Super Bowl victory looks extremely promising as they enter their fourth Super Bowl in the past five years.
Similar to the AFC championship, the National Football Conference (NFC) Championship is one fans will remember, especially fans of the Detroit Lions and the San Francisco 49ers. With a final score of 31-34, the 49ers made the largest comeback in the NFC championship history with a comeback of 17 points, winning them the game by three points. The franchise hero quarterback, Brock Purdy, led his team to a victory the franchise will never forget. It is extremely possible that the 49ers have the strongest offense in the league. And after their victory over the Lions, the 49ers are seeking revenge against the Chiefs after losing to them in the 2020 Super Bowl.

Who is performing in this year’s halftime show and who is sponsoring it after Pepsi’s recent contract expired?
The pregame show will be performed by rapper Post Malone and the much anticipated halftime will be hosted by eight-time Grammy winner, Usher. Furthermore, this will be the second Super Bowl where Pepsi is not a sponsor due to a contract expiration last year. This year’s sponsor, for the second year in a row, is none other than Apple Music. It looks like for the next few seasons, Apple will be the Halftime show sponsor.

When is Super Bowl 58 taking place?
As per usual, the Super Bowl will take place on the second Sunday of February. The set date for the anticipated matchup is February 11, with kickoff taking place at 6:30pm Eastern Time. For fans watching in Las Vegas, the game starts at 3:30 PM.
